I stand there dumb and crying, heaving grieving bright side out

Broken soldier toy, with one arm at attention

She said, “I miss him still, what he sometimes used to be…”

I said, “is this a memory, or just your fantasy?”

She hates me cause I’m right, a mirror catching enough light

to cast a shadow on threads they web; the trap; the foundation.
